I hope you all are dong fantastic, because I have something pretty to show you--made by yours truly of course. I’ve been wanting to show this to you all for a while but haven’t gotten around to it...the whole being sick for almost 3 weeks has certainly put a damper on my blogging and crafting plans. </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'; min-height: 19.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">I made this wreath a couple of weekends ago. I was inspired by these yarn wreaths I’ve seen on etsy so decided to make my own. All you need is a straw wreath {it’s the cheapest kind you can get at a crafting store...I think mine cost no more than $3}, Yarn, felt, buttons, little bird for putting on wreaths, and a hot glue gun. The only things I need to buy was the wreath and the bird since I already have the other supplies on hand. </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'; min-height: 19.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">So I popped in a movie and got started. The first thing you need to do is wrap the wreath in the yarn. This took me the length of the movie to do. I just tired the yarn around and started wrapping, tucking the yarn ends under yarn as you wrapped to hide and secure it. Sometimes I needed to go over a place a few times to get it covered well. Then I made my felt flowers and hot glued them on with buttons in the middle and fixed the birdie in place. I later covered the whole wreath in a water proofing spray {like what you get for shoes, I got mine when I bought a pair of swayed boots once}. Then I hung it up on our front door. Super cute, and super easy--took about 1 and a half movies to complete, a lovely evening activity.</span></span></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'; min-height: 19.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; font-family:Georgia, serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs3tqB6r47U5pGTiUSB2hvgrAg-yOnkmZ6cZDgNWAP3iG_3LK8Gky8vAI1LDPzywLqu8QlTyBeaPzAiHiOyxJpRJG8Vc_Vg3EFRC_4xzI3xp_aFAcV03vqCk71NVjxRqx0SBNfK5Iji9o/s400/Picnik+collage.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5577801865864224002" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 134px; " /></span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">As I said earlier I’ve been sick for almost three weeks. It’s frustrating to say the least...on Tuesday I finally started to feel like I got back to my normal self after being sick for two weeks, then working DanceBlue Pancakes {blog post & pictures coming soon}, and no joke that very night I started getting sinus pressure and congestion and spent the next two days in bed. But with my sinus pressure easing and my energy coming back I’m so ready to be done with sickness!! I’m calling for a sick free March please!! But since the last two days I barely ate anything and what I didn’t was just whatever I could find that didn’t require any effort on my part you can guess that it wasn’t full of much substance. So I went a little crazy {sarcasm implied} tonight!! I went to Kroger, picked up a frozen pasta skillet meal and a little package containing two slices of cheesecake from the bakery. I know what you’re thinking, wild & a splurge--I just can’t help it. But it was YUMMY and it was soooo good to get really full on some really good food that didn’t require much from me. So here I sit, in my bed, eating cheesecake, drinking coffee, watching America’s Funniest Home Videos, and waiting till I need to go work midnight pancakes at CSF. </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'; min-height: 19.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">See you later cyber world--enjoy YOUR weekend!! :)</span></span></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Loved by the King'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; font-family:Georgia, serif;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpXVBDC92nQ_KsWR28gSs3AhnWwsVemm7AhFVqLmdEzs76EopV-ml-4CUBgw0dSBkm6FGZzXKKijd4ZsCH806eQs1Et0gjous777T3HZQk-JqPFCmfS25kgth-CoxwuNdjqjb-ypzE9Fs/s320/100_0289.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5577801331887086626" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " /></span></span></p><div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; font-family:Georgia, serif;font-size:16px;"><br /></span></span></span></div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-78884690869290920842011-02-21T15:57:00.000-08:002011-02-21T16:57:25.734-08:00{valentine's day} 2011<div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Hello world!! I tried to find a fitting meal for us to make and then he was willing to sit through a Jane Austen movie with me--finally!! I decided to make homemade spaghetti and meat balls! Lady and the Tramp anyone?!? And not only was he willing to watch Jane Austen he was willing to watch the 6 hour long Pride and Prejudice mini series one!! He must really like me or something.</span></span></p><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyak1AlFn9uKMSzMRq4H07XG4-EbPkm4qel-zHqXuX61quD3zjUGZl3qfQ_5plcj-oJgtacpQ-A5E2dXrqeM6KRYe0ucZNMzOeIt2fHFF0-3LZsxruRVZskbCwVJpjq9OcWR1yB5mOc-s/s320/lady.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576311194683396274" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 208px; " /></span></div> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">It was so much fun cooking together and watching John enjoy Pride and Prejudice! I don’t know if I’ve ever been in a store like that on V-Day before. It was quite the sight to see, mean of all ages rushing in and trying to find flowers and candy. It was a mad house. I even walked through the seasonal aisle with all the valentines candy and stuffed bears and such on my way to check out and was amazed. I saw this man, walk up with a shopping basket in his hands and just start grabbing bags of candy and throwing it in. I don’t even think he was looking at what he was doing because it was so swift and quick. Let it be known that girls don’t want flowers and candy for the sake of getting flowers and candy. We want your heart. </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 27.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Erica’s Cheese Filled Meat Balls:</span></span></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Georgia, serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzaX7dmrqONoslIgqrMjsVViRCudVApWnkX36XU3C8YP5PBiIV949GkcaIiTaDDiyQ3f2nthGZFo493gYiOwhh3lCn0GStSY6ngyp3i_Ej_XgEj8Layj_i0ULE-ZeHBLVEv6UY6R4Naqo/s1600/100_0225.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzaX7dmrqONoslIgqrMjsVViRCudVApWnkX36XU3C8YP5PBiIV949GkcaIiTaDDiyQ3f2nthGZFo493gYiOwhh3lCn0GStSY6ngyp3i_Ej_XgEj8Layj_i0ULE-ZeHBLVEv6UY6R4Naqo/s320/100_0225.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576302448002736370" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " /></a></span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-ground beef</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-one scrambled egg</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-bread crumbs</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-fresh oregano, bail, & parsley; finely chopped.</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-half of a sweet onion; chopped</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-fennel seed</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-fresh garlic</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-salt & pepper</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-some parmesan cheese</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">-tiny fresh mozzarella cheese balls</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 27.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">1.) But something struck me today while reading 2 kings. {Which, by the way, makes so much more sense to me than chronicles which basically tells the same stories, I think cause kings gives more story like details.} </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 27.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">So there are all these kings of Israel and Judah and it just goes through the history of them and what kind of king they were, how long they ruled, who’s son they were, who took over for them and so forth. The most important aspect {to me right now} that is listed in all of them is if they were a good or evil king in the eyes of God. And a lot of times they were a good king in the eyes of God, they worshipped him and were devoted but they could have done more. If they were a realllllly good king they wouldn’t just follow God with their life but would make a path for others to be holy. They would also tear down other sex and religious shrines that we flooding into their country--they were removing sin and temptation from not only their own lives, but for others!! And that was what struck me soooo much today. Not only were things kings devoted to God, they also lived a life that make a path for others. </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 27.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Now those kings that were still good in the eyes of God but didn’t tear all this temptation down were still devoted and good, but because they didn’t wipe the country of these sinful things the country suffers and falls into sin. Specifically I’m thinking of 2 kings 14-16, which is part of what I read today. These kings of Judah...Amaziah, followed by Azariah, followed Pekah, and then followed by Jotham. These kings, right in a row, did good in the eyes of God but did not wipe out this sin within their people. Even about Azariah in the message translation it says “But he also failed to get ride of the local sex-and-religion shrines...”. But. He. Also. Failed. Daaaaaang. Who want’s that said about themselves?? So then Ahaz becomes king and he gets caught up in all these sins that were left in the country. He does evil int he eyes of God. It immediately made me wonder...what if his dad, and his ancestor had not just lived a live devoted to God BUT made sure others had a clear path to that. What if his ancestors had wiped out the sex and religious shrines in the country. Would he have fallen into them?</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 27.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">It just made me think about making as clear as a path as we can AWAY from sin. Why do we hang temptation right in front of our noses? Or our friends noses? Or our brothers and sisters in Christ’s noses?? We do it all the time. Like Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew, “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” {matt 5:29-30 NIV} Take what causes you to stumble in your life OUT of your life. And you know what, it might not cause you to stumble now but it just might later. Why keep something that you know can be a temptation in your life? </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 27.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">In the New Testament Paul has this to say about putting temptation in front of others in your life...” Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.” {romans 14:13-18 NIV} </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 27.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">So it’s not just about us and our sin, it’s ours and others. If we are not helping others to be sin free but only ourselves are we even helping The Kingdom at all? We should be kingdom builders, not a one man army. This is why real christian community is sooo utterly important. We can’t do this alone. We can’t defeat sin alone, we need Christ and we need our brothers and sisters in Christ. We gotta make straight paths, fixed on our Lord for ourselves and for others. </span></span></p>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-63914393165103964972011-01-24T13:15:00.000-08:002011-01-24T13:17:09.177-08:00{healing}I found this prayer of healing and am praying it for my brother Will who has mrsa and is in the hospital.<div><br /></div><div><div>In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,</div><div>We enjoin your divine mercies.</div><div>Lord, why do we suffer?</div><div>Why do we hurt?</div><div>Shall our only answer</div><div>Be the eternal abyss of the cosmos?</div><div>Shall our only answer be the whirlwind of unknowing</div><div>Which engulfed Job?</div><div>Why do the wicked flourish,</div><div>While the righteous waste away?</div><div>I am left speechless, left with the words,</div><div>“I will trust in you, my God.”</div><div><br /></div><div>God, we ask for the sending of your healing Spirit,</div><div>Which came to us through Jesus, as he breathed upon his disciples.</div><div>This Spirit gathered in your people,</div><div>To be warmed by the fire of divine presence.</div><div>Around this warmth, may Will</div><div>Be healed and taken into your care.</div><div><br /></div><div>Like the blind man whom Jesus healed,</div><div>May Will become a sign</div><div>of your glory, calling you the Anointed One,</div><div>The one who also anoints us and points us to the Love of God.</div><div>Grants us your healing peace, Amen.</div></div><div><br /></div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-76293403920014509272011-01-10T20:41:00.000-08:002011-01-10T21:05:43.925-08:00Banana Pudding CupcakesYesterday I got this random idea in my head...what if I made cupcakes with a vanilla wafer and slice of banana baked inside?? How amazing it is to see the different ways God has worked into the details and how poetic it all is.</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 13.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'; min-height: 24.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 13.0px 'Sue Ellen Francisco'"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Well this morning I was reading finishing up 2 Samuel at the end David is told to make a sacrifice to God on a certain piece of land which is something else's. God fashioned one to the specifications of his need and brought her to him. It was adam's job to husband her, that is, he was responsible--to car for, protect, provide for, and cherish her. Males, as the physical design alone would show, are made to be initiators. Females are made to be receptors, responders. it was not arbitrarily that God called Himself Israel's bridegroom and Israel His Bride, nor Christ the Head and the Church the Body and the Bride. He woos us, calls us, wins us, gives us His name, shares with us His destiny, takes responsibility for us, loves us with a love stronger than death.</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>-Elisabeth Elliot, Passion and Purity</i></div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-62429692332279802722010-07-23T14:20:00.000-07:002010-07-23T14:21:40.706-07:00melon salsamy mom's recipe for melon salsa <div><br /></div><div>normally watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); ">3 melons in fine dice<br />Vidalia Onion<br />fresh jalapeno<br />chili powder<br />cumin<br />lime juice and zest<br />vinegar of your choice(I like something light like rice or white wine but Aunt Lori likes Balsalmic. a fourth! :)</div><div>i felt bad but honestly part of me was sooo ready to be done with Moses. i mean he's a killer fella and all but after hearing the same things that happened in his life multiple times i was way OK to put that part behind me. </div><div>my mission is to get a big picture of what's going on, and honestly some of the chs are so long but the time i finish the book i don't want to forget what happened at the start. to prevent said flaw in myself i read at least 5 chapters a day, i even read the whole of leviticus in three days, i think if i had stretched it out i would have disliked it or been discouraged but since i did read it so fast i found new appreciation for it. specifically how God wants us to be pure. and what proof it was for that truth to me. </div><div><br /></div><div>here's to enjoying the remaining 75% :)</div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-68257197601030687282010-06-16T12:42:00.001-07:002010-06-16T12:43:19.573-07:00head. band.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIPcA-YIC16K1q8zp5NvmN7PnmShGY-0XSZBvxByVQvkim6XInpeZpyte8XKt-SjJRuZK8Mv_FvBjZc5QuzJoq2SYmwSN3O5GQs0GnJoBqTHan47kAzXyj_6zNPoKARZ960FOKiowGX5s/s1600/32586_821540359500_12915419_44174577_1679377_n.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIPcA-YIC16K1q8zp5NvmN7PnmShGY-0XSZBvxByVQvkim6XInpeZpyte8XKt-SjJRuZK8Mv_FvBjZc5QuzJoq2SYmwSN3O5GQs0GnJoBqTHan47kAzXyj_6zNPoKARZ960FOKiowGX5s/s320/32586_821540359500_12915419_44174577_1679377_n.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483459386719790418" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuk2EuBNOUC8w6pGmj6EGMrXeqXMIUS31CSWOVv-7u-rX2fZFmS7Hg32i6Pe338Pl3YcHvBh1NVQFtCUsTdPNy-TU9IxCXCaxvJsalmB_86KJXUqcQ-W8mzNfE9FFmoXvwDYYZvgXtITg/s1600/32586_821540344530_12915419_44174576_6464201_n.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuk2EuBNOUC8w6pGmj6EGMrXeqXMIUS31CSWOVv-7u-rX2fZFmS7Hg32i6Pe338Pl3YcHvBh1NVQFtCUsTdPNy-TU9IxCXCaxvJsalmB_86KJXUqcQ-W8mzNfE9FFmoXvwDYYZvgXtITg/s320/32586_821540344530_12915419_44174576_6464201_n.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483459382094699202" /></a><br />here is the headband i made to wear in whitney's wedding...<div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-68500615846079476172010-06-16T12:38:00.001-07:002010-06-16T12:41:40.485-07:006:16:2010<div>My grandparents recently had their 50th wedding anniveary party. for the part they asked me to do the slide show {and my papa only assigned this task to me two years ago...glad i could finish on time! Ms B!! You’re married!<br /><br />I have known Whitney since we were freshmen in high school but it wasn’t until we started living together in Donovan Hall our freshmen year at UK that we became best friends, and we have lived together ever since. So 5 years. 5 years we lived together as bffs.<br /><br />That’s a lot of runs to Dairy Queen for blizzards (in which whitney gets cappuccino heath! Always. Or she gets disappointed when she tries something new.), that’s also a lot of spontaneous trips to Cici’s pizza, pints of Ben & Jerry’s, field trips to Sephora, meanderings around the Arboretum, batches of freshly made kettle corn, crash courses on how she can be a sous chef, Redbox movie rentals, and many many laughs.<br /><br />I have been truly blessed to have a friend like Whitney, and it has also been a blessing to get to know Ben. But since Ben and I are so much alike I can’t say it’s been a challenge becoming his friend.<br /><br />I’ve just been preparing Whitney these past 5 years to live with Ben--and Ben you can thank me for that later if you want! Also Ben since I do have a crowd of witnesses I would like to restate that you better continue to be good to her, or I may take her back!<br /><br />Now lets back up just a little to last summer...I remember when I first heard the name “Ben Stroup”, and here in whitney’s words is a little bit about how they met in a message I received from her last summer...<br /><br />“this week i met an interesting individual. and i have no idea what will occur, or if we'll ever talk again. his name is ben stroup and he’s hysterical...anyhow. he has my number--we'll see if he uses it...i think i would like to get to know him better outside of camp---anyway, i just thought i should tell you, since we pretty much tell each other everything. who knows.”<br /><br />Well. I think it’s save to say that he used her number.<br /><br />All and all I can say I fully support the new Mrs. Ben Stroup. Ben did after all properly suck up to Whitney’s girlfriends--which is a requirement, obviously, cause when you wanna date a girl you’re not just getting the one girl, the best friends come with the complete package. How awesome is it that we can all get along like great friends, and that is how it should be.<br /><br />I don’t feel like I’m losing a friend, even though I’ve been asked that before. I am so happy for the two of them, even though I may have teared up or cried every time I talked about Whitney moving out the week she did.<br /><br />I know that God is with them in this and that there are great things in store for them. My prayer is that they would always keep the love alive, and keeping Christ center is key. I have been so blessed with their prayers and support in my own life that I hope they know they have mine in their life together as well.<br /><br />And I believe that God is doing and will continue to do great things through their life together, and that together as one they would be able to love God better than they did as two separate people.<br /><br />Ben and Whitney may you always pursue each others hearts even when you’re 80 years old, and that you continue to make each other feel more alive with each passing year. <br /><br />and I pray that your live together will always be ministry, where every you find yourselves, where ever God leads you whether that be loving on child soldiers in Africa or opening your home to children right here in KY who just need someone to love them the way Christ does.<br /><br />I love you both very very much. Congratulations on you marriage!!Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-74274485352802513022010-05-28T17:59:00.000-07:002010-05-28T18:01:49.667-07:00craft nightEtsy {which i'm obsessed with} posted a fun article on throwing a craft night! <div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.etsy.com/storque/how-to/how-to-throw-your-own-craft-night-8421/">How To Throw Your Own Craft Night</a></div><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkF_b6BGP8t8P6X3kMFh2RkLHD0TNEDDgPb5tHYdOGsjrvqr4u1Kl6IMvrV56NtjYaTO3h95YCOLIKMe9wz3eNFoDYq5Sg9K6MUR6YKw0XkGYXBD371fLZkRKi5-IPXC2JmWDh2Xl6j3s/s1600/Screen+shot+2010-05-28+at+8.58.24+PM.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 238px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkF_b6BGP8t8P6X3kMFh2RkLHD0TNEDDgPb5tHYdOGsjrvqr4u1Kl6IMvrV56NtjYaTO3h95YCOLIKMe9wz3eNFoDYq5Sg9K6MUR6YKw0XkGYXBD371fLZkRKi5-IPXC2JmWDh2Xl6j3s/s320/Screen+shot+2010-05-28+at+8.58.24+PM.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5476490593483871938" /></a>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01607278623567681710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817374499877131939.post-36906136355533279742010-05-21T13:10:00.000-07:002010-05-21T13:14:10.818-07:00headband. But God will not give us good habits or character, and He will not force us to walk correctly before Him. We have to do all that ourselves. We must “work out” our “own salvation” which God has worked in us...We have to get into the habit of carefully listening to God about everything, forming the habit of finding out what He says and heeding it. If, when a crisis comes, we instinctively turn to God, we will know that the habit has been formed in us. An oxymoron? I think not. When women choose to dress with modesty and dignity, it just might flip everything around...We were created in such a way that when we humans act without restraint and without any rule, we don't have as much fun! Modesty and dignity helps women protect their romantic hopes, challenges men to be courteous and honorable, and will turn the whole sexual revolution on its head.
